“Show Me Your Wounds” , within the frames of WISG FEMINIST forum, GOETHE INSTITUT, Tbilisi; 2025

The performance “Show Me Your Wounds” (the title inspired by an art installation by Joseph Beuys) explores the connection between the human body and contemporary technology. Among other things, it addresses the question of whether and when the human body is enhanced and enriched by technological possibilities, and when technology becomes a limiting and regulating instrument that governs the body. What is the potential for crossing the boundaries between natural and technical bodies, and what might the coexistence of humans and technology look like in the present time and space? Because humans use words for verbal communication, we usually think of the mouth as the main organ for producing sound. However, other parts of the body also contain different information, traumas, feelings, and sensations. Based on my experience, suppressing and ignoring them leads to somatic pain.

The pain that life inflicts on us accumulates in our bodies, creating an immaterial body crafted from pain.

The guests of the performance touch painful areas with a contact microphone.
